Until now, I had not really though of the future of What Corinne Did. I was blogging for the pleasure of it (and will still of course) but I was not looking any further. I guess new year means new something, no? Or at least new ideas, new thoughts. Are whatever new you want. Although I am pleased with What Corinne Did has achieved, I want more.
And it is normal to want more. To not want to settle.
So I was thinking. Where do I want to take What Corinne Did in 2019? 2018 has been a year of change for my blog and social media. I switched to fashion blogging, then decided to balance fashion off with baking and now I am wondering if I should go back into lifestyle.
Because lifestyle is a larger niche and allows to touch more topics.
My Instagram also went through some changes. I used to love flatlays. I still do. But I was JUST doing flatlays. And then stopped entirely. And then, my Instagram switched to just fashion. Which I love. And which will continue to love. However, this year, I am trying to diversify my fashion content. There will still be floral arches and spectacular displays. But in 2019, I will try to have a mix of urban and floral. Which is why I am hiring a photographer, and shooting for the first time with him this Sunday!
Get ready for some typical London landmarks, buildings and architecture as well as some more urban shots with bolder outfits. Because switching to fashion had me try bolder combination and styles, which I have been loving! I am also considering making videos of my baking and posting to IGTV. What do you think?

Well…
As far as the blog is concerned, as previously said, fashion and baking content will still be there. Starting with something quite cool for popcorn day! But I was wondering, maybe I should go back to doing some beauty content. I’ve got some ideas! And also, why not, some more tech posts and tutorials? My Photoshop tutorial was very well received so I am thinking of doing more!
But the biggest change that my content will go through is… Youtube.
Yes, you read right!
Youtube!
I have been thinking about it for quite some time now but never took the plunge. Truth is, although I am not intimidated by a camera, I never dared do videos as… I hate my accent when I speak English. I am a French native speaker and although I am now bilingual, I can’t stand my accent. So I always dismissed doing Youtube videos. Because most of my readership is English anyway.
BUT… considering I will go through some VERY BIG changes this spring and I will have A LOT of time on my hands (not saying more, I don’t want to jinx it!), I thought this would be the perfect occasion!
Still not recording in English though. Yes, I will record in French but add English subtitles to all my videos. Hope you won’t mind. Will you still watch? Will the English subtitles be enough or will you only watch videos in English?
Because I have so many ideas! Not just fashion or baking, but also books, beauty, tips and all. Maybe I should do Photoshop tutorials on Youtube too, what do you think?
I am thinking of starting filming in the coming weekends to have some videos in advance for when I actually start. And in the meantime, if you fancy, go give me a follow on Youtube so that you get updates for when my videos start coming out.

I think lifestyle is a great idea for you. I’m the same way with my blog. I started off producing fashion content, then inspiring stories, then blogging tips with beauty secrets until I realized I should just link myself under lifestyle??

Sounds like you’re going in a great direction with your content across Instagram, and your blog! Also a huge congrats on taking the plunge and going to start a youtube channel, it can be daunting I imagine but I’m sure it will be a great journey for you. Although I’m a native english speaker, I’d still love to watch your videos and I really enjoy listening to French speaking and music etc so that would be great. Your plans sound big and really bloody awesome! I started blogging with a niche but soon realised I hated being contained in a tiny box with expectation of what I should or shouldn’t be posting so I don’t even have a genre anymore, I post what I want, when I want! This sounds like such an exciting year for you! I’ve been thinking about starting YouTube too but I’m still not sure. I would definitely watch in French. I’ve actually been wanting to learn for a really long time now so it might even help me out a bit. I can speak a little but not much. As for content. I think you should have a month or two without a plan. Post what you like, see what you enjoy and what goes down well, then make a decision about your direction x

You can also get this effect with certain lenses. I find that it looks more natural with the lens.

Lifestyle is such a great and broad niche you’d also want to explore Corinne. Actually, I also started a fashion blog, added a bit of skincare and beauty, then food came in, travel later…blogging too. So I decided to rebrand my blog as a liestyle blog.

The best part about creating your own content is that you don’t have to stick to one niche, you can create anything you’d like! Your fashion content is beautiful and I’m sure your lifestyle and beauty are fantastic too. As for Youtube, that’s so exciting! I’m too scared to start one but I’d definitely watch yours. I love the idea of French with subtitles but please don’t hate your accent – most of us native English speakers can’t speak another language so you’re definitely one up on us!

Loving all the ideas Corinne. Hope your nail it with your first shoot on Sunday! I’ve had a little transition to lifestyle blogging on my instagram and I’m enjoying the change. You seem to be doing a LOT of changes. One advice i’d give to you to be honest with you is to not put too much pressure on making all those changes at once. It’s the new year and it’s great you want to improve your content but it can get overwhelming with a lot of things happening at the same time and the enjoyment can be sucked out of you. Just my opinion though, maybe you feel different

Lifestyle is a great angle for you and congratulations on faking the plunge with YouTube! I think subtitles will work well. I love your outfits and your pictures are wonderful.
Ok, well I do have many thoughts about your direction. First, I think it’s cool to do the branching out thing and not just fashion. And so cool you are having a professional do the photography. I think that is exciting. And I like the tutorial on how to do the photoshop for photographs. Got some new lenses for my equipment and looking forward to trying them out. As for YouTube, I would suggest trying out both English and French. I get you don’t like your accent. But to be perfectly honest, I think it would actually be a draw to English speakers to do tutorials in English with the French Accent. It would actually make me want to watch it more, not less. Now if we were talking about a movie you were doing, I might prefer it in French. But for a small tutorial I think trying out English would be better. Besides, you can watch and cut the final product a whole bunch of times if you are worried. They have a ton of cuts for movies. Why not for a tutorial. I think you will do amazing in any case. And I’m looking forward to seeing it.

I applaud you and bloggers like you who aren’t afraid of being in front of the camera. Your photos are beautiful and you look great in them. I guess the most important thing is to do what makes you happiest and most peaceful. For my own blogs, I’m just aiming for greater consistency, replying to comments from readers, and monetizing through affiliate marketing and other means.
I’ve been contemplating doing YouTube as well. It’s another great way to get your voice heard by so many people. Good luck
