Velvet Wardrobe & Life Update

velvet

What an intriguing title, isn’t it? Velvet and life update. Although the first half might be a bit mysterious, the second one is quite straight forward. Actually, velvet refers to that jumper I am wearing on the pictures. It is amazing and super cosy. More on that later on. Life update speaks for itself. As it has been a while I haven’t written one, I felt like it was time again.

Back in March, I started a new job as a social media assistant in Manchester. In September, one day after my probation period ended, I lost that job. How and why are questions I have been asking myself for quite some time but I decided to move on. They are not worth my time and better things are coming my way. Although unexpected, this happened just before I was due to go on a holiday to Spain with my boyfriend, so I guess it was the perfect timing. I had time to take a step back and think on what I needed to do. If anything, it taught me what kind of manager I never want to be.

Back in the UK, I started to look for jobs in London and Edinburgh. My boyfriend lives in Edinburgh and after losing my job, we decided to both get jobs in London. Thus, the events kinda accelerated our life project together. I got interviews for jobs in marketing and social media but decided to take it slowly. I was not going to do the same mistake twice and take a low paid job just for the sake of it.

While looking for a new job, I decided to earn some money. I signed up to a website for freelancers, created my profile, applied to a few ads and guess what? I got three clients straight away! This made me reconsider my whole life. Do I want to be a full-time freelancer? I don’t know. Do I want to be my own boss and work from home? Yes, why not. Do I want to dedicate more time to the blog? Yes.

I decided that I would not go freelance full-time for now and will keep it as an extra. Then, I got an offer for a Social Media & Marketing manager position in London. I found a flat in Canary Wharf and I am starting on the 27th of November. My boyfriend will now looking for a job in London and we expect to be moving in together in six month time. I have drawn a line on what happened in Manchester and learnt my lesson. Now, I am ready for a new super exciting adventure.

As for this outfit, I am having a big crush on velvet at the moment. My favorite piece is this burgundy jumper that I got from Primark. It is so cosy and warm but so light at the same time. I styled it with shoes I borrowed from my sister and an oversized denim jacket.

Denim jacket – Calvin Klein at Rockit
Jumper & tights – Primark
Skirt – Boohoo
Boots & earrings – H&M
Clutch – Jennyfer
