Supporting Small Businesses – Coco Chocolatier *

If you read my blog regularly, you know I have started a new series called “Supporting Small Businesses“. And so, it focuses on small companies that are amazing at what they do and that deserve to get more attention. Thus, the second blog post of this series is about Coco Chocolatier. As the name may give away, Coco Chocolatier is all about… chocolate!

Now, here’s a bit about Coco Chocolatier. The company is a collaborative canvas of artisans and artists who dare to disrupt, innovate and inspire. It is all about creativity with a product that does not compromise on style or substance. The chocolate bars are made with the world’s finest South American cocoa and are enveloped with original designs by independent artists. Have a look at the gorgeous packaging and you’ll see what I mean! Coco Chocolatier is based in Edinburgh and has partners all around the world. Their mission is to change the perception of chocolate forever by delivering extraordinary experiences.

A chocolate tasting with Coco Chocolatier

Do they deliver on all their promises you may ask? I’ll give you the answer in a second. They sent me a six bar chocolate box for me to review. The box contained the following bars: Artisan Roast Espresso; Caramel, Hazelnut & Isle of Skye Sea Salt; Earl Grey Tea & Bergamot; Gin & Tonic; Raspberry & Vanilla Bean and Hazelnut & Isle of Skye Sea Salt. You can’t see the caramel bar on the photos because we had already ate it. “WE” as in me, my boyfriend and my family, while we were holidaying in Corsica. We did a chocolate tasting altogether to make it even more genuine for you dear readers!

So, what did we all think? What came out of the tasting?

Well, for staters, that the packaging is amazing. It is so curated and luxurious. That packaging is a winner. Indeed, you’d see the bars on a shop shelf and would be drawn to them. The packaging is so colorful – you know my love for colors – and eye catchy. Also, very Instagrammable I might add!

Now, onto the chocolate – the best part in my opinion. I have to admit, I am more of a milk chocolate lover. I always find dark chocolate bitter. Yes, yes, I know it’s healthier. However, I really liked Coco Chocolatier dark chocolate bars. It’s due to the flavors brought by the extra ingredients. I loved the sea salt component, as did my mum and dad who said the Hazelnut & Isle of Skye Sea Salt Chocolate Bar was their favorite!

I liked the subtle hint of espresso of the Artisan Roast Espresso Bar and really enjoyed the Gin & Tonic one – the Gin lover in me. However, my absolute favorite was the Caramel, Hazelnut & Isle of Skye Chocolate Bar. As a matter of fact, it is milk chocolate. It was my sister’s favorite too. My youngest brother loved the Raspberry & Vanilla Bean bar. It was white chocolate and he loves white chocolate.

My two other brothers and my boyfriend are dark chocolate lovers but I think they favored the artisan roast espresso and the Isle of Sky Sea Salt bars. Overall, I think they all enjoyed the experience as all the chocolate bars were finished pretty quickly! So, as the popular vote has shown us, Coco Chocolatier is a win and you must absolutely try it!

Or maybe you already have, have you? The brand also does other chocolate-based products such as truffles, chocolate covered fruits or flavored cocoa powder.

Have you heard of Coco Chocolatier before? If so, did you try their chocolate bar? What did you think? If it is the first time hearing about the brand, what do you think? About the packaging and the look of the bars? Will you try it?

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you liked this post.

See you soon,
Love,
Corinne

I love chocolate. My husband is a truck driver and he delivers chocolate at factories. Usually he gets a whole box with everything that they make as a thank you. Then you understand that the box is completely empty after a few days. LOL.

Love the packaging on these chocolate bars! All of the flavours sound lovely to be honest but I’m rather partial to any kind of salted chocolate so think the ones with the sea salt in would probably be my favourites if I tasted them. It’s great that you’re supporting small businesses too!
