Rocking That Striped Jumpsuit*

Striped Jumpsuit

What do they say about stripes again? Horizontal stripes will make you look wider and vertical stripes taller. Is that true though? Well, I can’t really say. Looking at my wardrobe, I don’t own any pieces with horizontal stripes. I do now own a striped jumpsuit that Roman Originals kindly sent me. Does it make me look taller? Maybe. The angle of the photo might help too. What do you think?

So we’ve established that vertical stripes will make you look taller. Maybe even slimmer? Although, it does not really matter. I don’t mind stripes, I do mind jumpsuit though. I have a sort of love-hate relationship with them. It is mainly due to my past as a (not professional) skier. There are two types of ski suits: two pieces and one piece. Of course, when I started, I was wearing a one piece ski suit. Kids often do. And really, having to remove everything in the toilet while it’s freezing and wet outside… well it’s not super pleasant.

Thus, you understand why I am not wearing jumpsuit often. Because even in summer, you need to remove it all when you go to the loo. Yup. That’s the only flaw I find them. Otherwise, I like jumpsuits. And this striped jumpsuit makes no exception. I do believe that a jumpsuit is one of the most versatile fashion pieces you can own. Style it down for work or a day walking through the city, style it up for a dinner date or a night out. And I also really do like how it looks on me.

On this occasion, I chose to style it down. Ana and I were in Tuscany when these photos were taken and the jumpsuit was the perfect piece to walk (and drive) through Tuscany, have dinner and chill on the terrace. As you may already know, I am a sucker for denim jackets. I got this one a year ago and I am still in love. Basic but timeless. Paired up with a bamboo bag that seems to be the it-accessories of the summer (still), a straw hat and straw wedges with an Aztec print. And a bit of tassels to add some more blue to this outfit.

Going back to that striped jumpsuit, I am not used to them. But I am so glad I was sent this one. It is super easy to style, so comfortable to wear and put on. The belt just above the hips helps highlight the waist and the fabric is so light and floaty, it’s perfect when it’s very hot outside while not revealing too much. I used to like jumpsuits on other, not me, but now I love them on me too. This one at least!

What do you think of this outfit? And the jumpsuit? Is it your style? Do you wear jumpsuits often? If not, why not? What’s your opinion on them?

Thanks a lot for stopping by, I hope you liked this post.

See you soon,
Love,
Corinne

*I was sent this jumpsuit by Roman Originals as a gift but all opinions remains genuine and my own.

My mom told me about the horizontal stripes making people look wider! I feel like a lot of things come into play here, including the angle of the picture. You’re rocking the jumpsuit look! I haven’t worn them before but always love seeing others rocking them!

I love that jumpsuit. It really suits you! I can completely sympathise with what you were saying about having to remove the entire jumpsuit when you needed the loo. I can hardly bare it in summer, so I can barely imagine what it must’ve felt like in winter! The only reason I don’t wear jumpsuits is because I have such wide hips that I can never get them to fit properly. If I do find some that fit my hips, they look baggy everywhere. It’s such a nightmare!

That is the annoying thing about jumpsuits and playsuits, is going to the bloody loo!! They’re such pretty items of clothing but can be such a damn pain. I’m loving the style and print of this jumpsuit, it looks fabulous on you and those sunglasses are the best! I have them in 3 different colours and I can’t get enough of them!

I feel the same about jumpsuits. Live the aesthetic; hate having to pee when I wearing one. But I really love this one on you. How light is the fabric? I’ll be in south east Asia soon and a jumpsuit that is really lightweight could be perfect for balmy nights – stylish, but with no thigh chafe ?

I love this jumpsuit! And it looks great on you. I agree though, I’m a big fan of jumpsuits and playsuits as I find them really easy to style and look polished with minimal effort but sometimes the bathroom situation is just too much effort. I really hope the stripes do make you look taller, I’m only 5ft and need all the optical illusion I can get x

I love jumpsuits although I have to agree with you about how annoying they are when you have to go to the bathroom. Your sense of style is impeccable

I love the color of this jumpsuit. It’s so chic. Also, the handbag is stunning.

  35. April 18, 2018 / 10:57 am

I know what you mean with the whole hate/love relationship with jumpsuit as while I do love them and how easy they are to style at the same time if you need the toliet and your zip is too high to reach then you are going to have issues aha! As you know it always takes me like 20 minutes to get out of one if the zip is too high as I have to quite literally wrestle with my zip. I did love this striped jumpsuit on you though it would be perfect for the beach in warmer weather. Maybe Brighton? xx

  36. April 18, 2018 / 12:51 pm

I’m the only person I know that used to wear and love jumpsuits (but that is changing). I’m not from here and I prefer to dress how I did prior to my move. It’s pretty catchy because now others are following suit. I love the color of this one, it’s perfect for you.

  37. April 18, 2018 / 1:04 pm

Nice outfit. i agree with you that jumpsuits are the most versatile fashion pieces.

  38. April 18, 2018 / 1:10 pm

Such a stylish outfit! I love the denim combo and the tassel earrings you paired with it! You look great Corinne!! β™šβ I really like jumpsuits actually, like you I don’t mind the stripes if I find a pattern that I like but vertical stripes really can accentuate your height depending on the angle in a photo. πŸ™‚
