Playsuit & Jumpsuit Styling With Femme Luxe Finery*

playsuit and jumpsuit styling with femme luxe finery

All dressed up and nowhere to go. This saying has never rung truer than it does now. I have some gorgeous outfits from Femme Luxe Finery but New York is still under lockdown so nowhere to show them off. Pubs may have reopening and be offering outdoor dining, clubs and bars do not let anyone in.

Never mind, nothing is more enjoyable that a party at home. This also rings quite true with me. I always have much more fun at flat parties. Sure, wearing one of those jumpsuits from Femme Luxe Finery, I’d look overdressed (is that even a thing?) but I’d get to wear them at least! And if not, I think I look  pretty damn good in them so can wear them at home just for the sake of enjoying them!

Even at home, I have an audience. My husband. Who was a close witness to my photoshoot and seemed to quite like all three Femme Luxe Finery outfits. So, I still have that. And since I have sort of given up on Instagram and will hold true to my promise to not care anymore and change my approach to the app, I had free rein to shoot content for this blog post.

Without further ado, let’s get into it.

How to style jumpsuits with Femme Luxe Finery

Everything is self-shot. Just me, my phone as a remote, my camera and a tripod. Thus, I am quite  proud of how the photos turned out.

This blog post is a paid collaboration with Femme Luxe Finery.

1. What is it with the sleeves?!

Not gonna lie, huge puffy sleeves are a just attention-catcher for me. I mean, look at them! The organza is gorgeous, the shape is amazing, the puff is wonderful. Those sleeves can make a very basic simple dress into something must better. I just find them super chic and bold.

When I think about it, a few years ago, I would not have dared in a thousand year wear something that daring. I guess people do change in the end. Or just get more confident.

This black playsuit from Femme Luxe Finery is perfect for a night out in summer – for when clubs and bars reopen, which in NYC will not happen until mid-August. I am always a bit apprehensive when I buy playsuits or jumpsuits as I am afraid they may not fit me. Not gonna lie, I have not been a healthy eater under lockdown, put on some weight but made peace with that. So I went for a size above my usual size (pre-pandemic) and it fits like a charm.

The fabric is super pleasant to the touch, pretty similar to the sleeves. The back as a zip and there is an inner coat. Why does it matter? Because the fabric is think enough that it is not see-through. Thus, no need to wear a bra! And that  is everything!

As usual when it comes to accessorizing, I do try to keep it simple. I think the sleeves to a great job at upping this outfit. However, my graphic wedges and golden earrings complement them very well!

2. Red is the new black

No, I have never watched Orange is the new black. I am behind on all my series so not about to start a new one, even though I have heard amazing things about it. Plus, I have a lot of books to read so they come first. Any ways, back to the topic at hand, which is this gorgeous red jumpsuit, once again from Femme Luxe Finery.

I am not one to say no to asymmetric sleeves. Asymmetric is super stylish and I have always loved it. I get that it is a bit higher on the “dressed up” scale as I would not necessarily wear asymmetric pieces on a casual day or at work. However, I do find it super chic.

If you have been reading my blog for some time, you know how much I love bright colors. Usually they come in the form of a floral print, I know. This time it is a bright red block color.

Once again the design is very good. The jumpsuit is very comfortable, easy to wear and the fabric is quite stretchy. It did not feel tight at all and the length is just right as well. I believe that if you are below 5 ft 6, it is better to wear the jumpsuit with wedges.

It is perfect with a black belt although it comes with a red fabric belt. I just switched it because I thought the black belt added a nice touch. Yeah, if clubs were open and had to finally have my birthday night out, I’d definitely wear this piece!

3. Mesh for life

Last but not least of this little lookbook with Femme Luxe Finery, is this gorgeous back jumpsuit with mesh and shoulder pads. The thing with online shopping, is that you do not really get to try on before you buy. To be honest, now that we’ve been hit by the pandemic and that changing rooms will not reopen, I guess it is gonna be the same with shopping on the high-street.

You know me, I do not fear changing in the street when I shoot but still! So yes,  you do not really know how the piece would look on you prior to receiving it. Good things that most returns are free now, because would you imagine the hassle?!

Thus, I was not sure about this jumpsuit but turns out, it fits me very well! Femme Luxe Finery did very good here! It is a size 12 and I think it embraces my curves very well. Again, the fabric is stretchy and this one not too tight nor close to the body. No need to wear a bra here either, mostly because it would ruin the mesh effect.

I think this one is super chick, really nice to wear and also thinning. It is very easy to accessorize since it is black. So here you have it with my Toni Mango Furla bag which my mum had gifted me for my 26th birthday and which I love. Some jewelry and again, very simple wedges for the final touch.
