Have you ever had this feeling when you expect something quite cool? And that the thing turns out to be even better? On Christmas for example. You made a list of gifts ranked in order of preference. Yet, you know that you’re very unlikely getting the first item. Then, upon unwrapping your present and opening the box, you see that top of the list item? Well, Jord Watches gives you the exact same feeling.
A few weeks ago, they got in touch. I had heard of them before, read a few posts on their watches and I got quite excited. The peculiarity of Jord’s unique watches is that they are made of wood, which is not something you see often. Thus, I had a look at their website, got even more excited about this collaboration, and listed my top three watches.
I was expecting to receive something super nice. What I got was even better!
They are very clever. That black parcel looked so random to be honest. Then you open it and that’s when the magic starts. I never expect anything from the packaging because it can mean nothing as well as everything. I just knew I’d get a nice watch. But the box it was in… that box! That is amazing curated packaging.
The watch comes into a small wooden box. Open the magnetic lid and you get to the watch, on a small branded cushion, along with some care accessories. Have a look further down and you spot a little drawer containing other accessories for your Jord Watch. The watch has its own little jewelry box. And I can’t figure out which one I love most!
Maybe the box… Just kidding.
The watch I got was the first on my list: Zebrawood & Maple from the Fieldcrest series. As the name tells you, it is made of zebrawood and maple tree, 100% natural wood. If you look at the back of the watch, details of the crafting, origins and materials are engraved, which to me add an extra luxurious feel. I mean, such an attention to details! The buckle is also super easy to open and close, which, when you use one hand, is super handy! The watch is a tiny bit to big for my wrist though and I’d need to have it adjusted. The only thing that bugs me a bit is that, to size it, I need to go to a local jeweler. And knowing how lazy I am…
If you have been reading my blog for a long time or just following me on Instagram, you know how much I love bright colors. Whether it is about my Instagram style or my fashion style, you’ll notice quickly that color is my magic word. The thing with bright colors is that a lot can be too much and accessorizing can quickly become tricky. Yet, with this watch, problem solved. The wood is of a subtle brown. Not too light, not too dark, just neutral that goes with everything. So it is perfect for my colorful outfits.

Everyone is pretty much using their phone as a watch nowadays, but I still think that there is a time and place to wear a watch. I often put on my best watch when I am going to an important event. It makes me feel more confident and stylish when I wear one.
