Life is unpredictable. Plans change. Things happen that you would have never imagined. But that is what makes it exciting. Masha Hasel fits into that category. A new brand of vegan leather handbags, it is a new project of mine that I am currently working on.
To be fair, yes, I would have never seen myself starting my own brand and website. In my head, it requires so many skills and efforts that I was not sure I had what’s needed. Mostly when it comes to the administrative side of things.
And yes, I had been thinking of starting my own brand at some point. Not gonna lie, I was looking at jewelry rather than handbags. But I guess Masha Hasel changed that. It was spontaneous, not planned at all but it felt good when it happened.
It is a friend of mine and former colleague who asked me I had not done it yet? After all, I had all the necessary skills according to him. And while it took a bit more thinking and convincing, I finally took the plunge.
Why vegan leather handbags? Well, why not?
I love handbags. And I collect them. Although since moving to the US and already planning our returning to Europe, I have had to keep that collection small. Because I don’t know how I can bring everything with me!
Vegan leather, because well, I’d want anyone to be able to wear Masha Hasel bags. Using vegan fabric and material guarantees that. The handbag selection is based on designs I really love and designs that are quite trendy at the moment.
Two birds with one stone.
Handbags, crossbody bags or over the shoulder bags, I believe there will be something for everyone. Sure, the bag selection catered at Masha Hasel for now is small. But it is mighty. And styles I really like!

Masha Hasel is a side project at the moment. I am still employed full-time and quite enjoying my day job. However, it is a project I am hoping to see grow. I am not going to lie, it would be amazing if it was to become my new full-time job.
But we are not there yet. In the meantime, there are a lot of things to think about including social media, content, influencers, ads, emails, etc. Masha Hasel is the start of an exciting new journey. And I hope you’ll come along with me!
