Until now, I had not really though of the future of What Corinne Did. I was blogging for the pleasure of it (and will still of course) but I was not looking any further. I guess new year means new something, no? Or at least new ideas, new thoughts. Are whatever new you want. Although I am pleased with What Corinne Did has achieved, I want more.
And it is normal to want more. To not want to settle.
So I was thinking. Where do I want to take What Corinne Did in 2019? 2018 has been a year of change for my blog and social media. I switched to fashion blogging, then decided to balance fashion off with baking and now I am wondering if I should go back into lifestyle.
Because lifestyle is a larger niche and allows to touch more topics.
My Instagram also went through some changes. I used to love flatlays. I still do. But I was JUST doing flatlays. And then stopped entirely. And then, my Instagram switched to just fashion. Which I love. And which will continue to love. However, this year, I am trying to diversify my fashion content. There will still be floral arches and spectacular displays. But in 2019, I will try to have a mix of urban and floral. Which is why I am hiring a photographer, and shooting for the first time with him this Sunday!
Get ready for some typical London landmarks, buildings and architecture as well as some more urban shots with bolder outfits. Because switching to fashion had me try bolder combination and styles, which I have been loving! I am also considering making videos of my baking and posting to IGTV. What do you think?
So this is for Instagram.
What of everything else?
As far as the blog is concerned, as previously said, fashion and baking content will still be there. Starting with something quite cool for popcorn day! But I was wondering, maybe I should go back to doing some beauty content. I’ve got some ideas! And also, why not, some more tech posts and tutorials? My Photoshop tutorial was very well received so I am thinking of doing more!
But the biggest change that my content will go through is… Youtube.
Yes, you read right!
I have been thinking about it for quite some time now but never took the plunge. Truth is, although I am not intimidated by a camera, I never dared do videos as… I hate my accent when I speak English. I am a French native speaker and although I am now bilingual, I can’t stand my accent. So I always dismissed doing Youtube videos. Because most of my readership is English anyway.
BUT… considering I will go through some VERY BIG changes this spring and I will have A LOT of time on my hands (not saying more, I don’t want to jinx it!), I thought this would be the perfect occasion!
Still not recording in English though. Yes, I will record in French but add English subtitles to all my videos. Hope you won’t mind. Will you still watch? Will the English subtitles be enough or will you only watch videos in English?
Because I have so many ideas! Not just fashion or baking, but also books, beauty, tips and all. Maybe I should do Photoshop tutorials on Youtube too, what do you think?
I am thinking of starting filming in the coming weekends to have some videos in advance for when I actually start. And in the meantime, if you fancy, go give me a follow on Youtube so that you get updates for when my videos start coming out.

Have you decided to do some major changes for your blog? Are you changing your content in 2019? Or sticking to what you did in 2018? Any new direction for your content?
Don’t forget to follow on Youtube!
Thanks a lot for reading. Hope you liked this post.
See you soon, love, Corinne.
I think lifestyle is a great idea for you. I’m the same way with my blog. I started off producing fashion content, then inspiring stories, then blogging tips with beauty secrets until I realized I should just link myself under lifestyle??
I say do what every makes your heart sing and brings butterflies to your stomach in a good way. You have my support!
I’m so excited for you new journey with YouTube. I would still watch your videos in French especially cooking videos, as long as you link the recipe back to your blog, I’m cool with it.

Also I point a lot on the Lifestyle on my blog and my social networks, I think it’s important that everyone finds his style!
Awesome photos, as usual. Yes, tutorials would be helpful. I want to learn to improve my photos. I always think lifestyle is a good niche!
I would love for you to photoshop some tuts on YouTube. I’ve been wanting to learn how to use photoshop but I’ve not had a good teacher yet, or maybe it’s just the student ;).
Sounds like you’re going in a great direction with your content across Instagram, and your blog! Also a huge congrats on taking the plunge and going to start a youtube channel, it can be daunting I imagine but I’m sure it will be a great journey for you. Although I’m a native english speaker, I’d still love to watch your videos and I really enjoy listening to French speaking and music etc so that would be great. Thanks for sharing and best of luck for all these great goals!
You have put together a very good plan for your blog and social media. I agree that a lifestyle blog might be good for you if you want to write about fashion and baking. I also love that you are starting a youtube channel, it’s something I’m not brave enough to do! Good luck!

It sounds like you have so many exciting plans for 2019, Corinne! I really enjoyed your Photoshop tutorial and found it really useful, I would love to see more. Your photos are gorgeous as always, I can’t wait to see what this year brings for you and your blog. All the best with your future projects! <3 xx

It sounds like you’ve got such great plans for your blog and Instagram in 2019, Corinne! I wish you all the best and I can’t wait to see more of your content throughout the year! xx
Best of luck with your youtube journey my lovely!
Your plans sound big and really bloody awesome! I started blogging with a niche but soon realised I hated being contained in a tiny box with expectation of what I should or shouldn’t be posting so I don’t even have a genre anymore, I post what I want, when I want! Excited to see where your content takes you and the new opportunities it’ll bring!
Sounds like an amazing plan! I think the best thing to do with blogging is post what you want to do and see where the content takes you and you may even discover a new form of blogging that you will love! Best of luck with your youtube I will definitely be checking that out x
Looking forward to seeing what 2019 will bring to your blog and now youtube!
Sometimes a changeup is great…I’m trying to take blogging a bit more seriously, getting more organised and hopefully working with a few brands!
I have a lifestyle blog too as I love writing about so many topics. Having a niche would be too boring for me.
Yaaaaay for YouTube! I’ll totally watch them, especially as I won’t be able to see you in person 🙁 🙁 🙁 I love these photos of you!! I changed my blog to more of a book blog last year and I’m so glad I did, it feels so much more ‘me’ – and I can still include whatever I want if I want to!
This sounds like such an exciting year for you! I’ve been thinking about starting YouTube too but I’m still not sure. I would definitely watch in French. I’ve actually been wanting to learn for a really long time now so it might even help me out a bit. I can speak a little but not much. As for content. I think you should have a month or two without a plan. Post what you like, see what you enjoy and what goes down well, then make a decision about your direction x
Man I am so behind lol I am just getting great at Pinterest and you’re moving on to YouTube! I w.e ould totally watch!
great shots u got here and what an exciting year this will be! will see you in youtube then too!
These are great pictures. 2018 was memorable! Now we have a whole new story to write! Can’t wait to see you in Youtube.
You can also get this effect with certain lenses. I find that it looks more natural with the lens.
It’s late and I obviously need to get off of my computer. My last comment was regarding an older post. Let’s start again… it looks like you had a great year. I can’t wait to see what 2019 holds for you!
All the best with youtube! 🙂
I have been wanting to look into that for some time. I will subscribe to your channel!
Much as I love your fashion and baking posts (recipes on Insta stories sound good), I think lifestyle is a great way forwards. I loved your Photoshop tutorial (more please) and I think it would give you a whole new bunch of areas to write for. Good luck with whatever you decide to do (am very intrigued by your teaser announcement!), I’m sure 2019 will be a wonderful year for you! x

Oooh how exciting, lots of new ventures on the way then! I’ve wanted to shoot with a photographer for a while but haven’t been able to justify the cost to myself yet! Good luck with your new YoutTube channel, I can’t wait to have a nosy!

aww good luck with youtube! I love watching videos and instagram just doesn’t cut it for me.
Lifestyle is such a great and broad niche you’d also want to explore Corinne. Actually, I also started a fashion blog, added a bit of skincare and beauty, then food came in, travel later…blogging too. So I decided to rebrand my blog as a liestyle blog.
Wow this sounds great! Venturing into youtube is going to be really exciting for you, I cant wait to see more!
Sounds like so much fun! I love that you’re going to be filming in French for YT, I’m not fluent but I know quite a bit of French so that will be fun to watch!

Sounds like you’ve got a busy 2019 ahead, and I’m so excited for you!
I don’t have any plans to change my blog this year, just to do more writing and see more in the world (:
Alys / withlovealys.com
you should so start a youtube channel, I would watch for sure!
I get what you mean about Instagram, mine has changed too; I barley ever do flatlays anymore x
You sound like you have big plans for 2019 and I’m excited to see what you produce. The best part about creating your own content is that you don’t have to stick to one niche, you can create anything you’d like! Your fashion content is beautiful and I’m sure your lifestyle and beauty are fantastic too. As for Youtube, that’s so exciting! I’m too scared to start one but I’d definitely watch yours. I love the idea of French with subtitles but please don’t hate your accent – most of us native English speakers can’t speak another language so you’re definitely one up on us!

It’s so difficult to figure out what direction to take your blog! Mine is a little bit of everything at the moment and I think I’ve decided that’s what I like. Considering you haven’t hired a photographer before, your photos are stunning! And when it comes to Youtube, I totally relate to what you’re saying – I’ve wanted to start a channel for years but I’ve always held myself back and I’m seriously considering it this year for the first time. Excited to see your new content!
You’re right, it’s good to want to push yourself to be better! I think your lifestyle content would be really good – I already love your baking content so it would be a nice little extra! And photoshop tutorials on YouTube sound good!

I love having a lifestyle blog because I can post whatever… and my mind is usually all over the place anyways! It sounds like it’s going to be a really great year with lots of exciting changes in 2019! Can’t wait to see how it all works out for you. YT sounds really exciting!
Loving all the ideas Corinne. Hope your nail it with your first shoot on Sunday! I’ve had a little transition to lifestyle blogging on my instagram and I’m enjoying the change. You seem to be doing a LOT of changes. One advice i’d give to you to be honest with you is to not put too much pressure on making all those changes at once. It’s the new year and it’s great you want to improve your content but it can get overwhelming with a lot of things happening at the same time and the enjoyment can be sucked out of you. Just my opinion though, maybe you feel different

I’d LOVE to watch your videos in French! I studied French for my A Level last year, and since June, I’ve barely revisited it. I’ll definitely subscribe to your channel! x
I don’t know if it’s the new year talking but I’ve also been looking into branching out content wise, nothing’s wrong with getting your hands into several things that you enjoy right? As long as you put equal amount of effort into everything. good luck on your endeavors!
Your plans look great and best of luck for that. I am sticking to my content in 2019, I hope it goes well.
So many exciting things for 2019! I love how you are taking charge and owning your new direction! All the best for the New Year !
Such a great blog post to read! You have a really amazing taste in fashion and styles! Do some for it!
Such a great blog post to read! You have a really amazing taste in fashion and styles! Do more for it!
Your pictures are so beautiful. I don’t mind subtitles on videos so I would still watch your videos even though they would be spoken in French. ??
With love, Alisha Valerie x | http://www.alishavalerie.com
Sounds like you’re going in a great direction with your content across your blog. Your pictures are so beautiful.
Lifestyle is a great angle for you and congratulations on faking the plunge with YouTube! I think subtitles will work well. I love your outfits and your pictures are wonderful.
Ok, well I do have many thoughts about your direction. First, I think it’s cool to do the branching out thing and not just fashion. And so cool you are having a professional do the photography. I think that is exciting. And I like the tutorial on how to do the photoshop for photographs. Got some new lenses for my equipment and looking forward to trying them out. As for YouTube, I would suggest trying out both English and French. I get you don’t like your accent. But to be perfectly honest, I think it would actually be a draw to English speakers to do tutorials in English with the French Accent. It would actually make me want to watch it more, not less. Now if we were talking about a movie you were doing, I might prefer it in French. But for a small tutorial I think trying out English would be better. Besides, you can watch and cut the final product a whole bunch of times if you are worried. They have a ton of cuts for movies. Why not for a tutorial. I think you will do amazing in any case. And I’m looking forward to seeing it.
Amazing outfit I should say! Your pictures are so good from styling, to execution and location! Keep it up girlie xoxo

I applaud you and bloggers like you who aren’t afraid of being in front of the camera. Your photos are beautiful and you look great in them. I guess the most important thing is to do what makes you happiest and most peaceful. For my own blogs, I’m just aiming for greater consistency, replying to comments from readers, and monetizing through affiliate marketing and other means.
I’ve been contemplating doing YouTube as well. It’s another great way to get your voice heard by so many people. Good luck
These are the best photos of you in 2018. It sounds like you have great plans for this year. Hope you fill them all and make you happy.
I tried learning about Photoshop but i find it quite tedious (or maybe I have no patoence on it). But now i find it interesting thanks to your story.
You look nice in that outfit. It’s good that you have planned out your year. I am still living it one day at a time.
