  • The Perfect Mid-Season Coat

    mid-season coat

Third week of February. The sun is out, the temperature goes up to 18°C in London, it is basically spring. How amazing. Last week of February. It’s raining everyday, cold AF and we realized we got fooled. Spring fooled. Winter is back and it confuses the sh*t out of us. What we are supposed to wear when the weather never listens?

One morning you put on that heavy winter coat and suffocate on your way to the office. The next day, you’ve learnt your lesson, go for a biker jacket and freeze your ass off until you get to the office. You would not have it any other way. It would be too easy otherwise, wouldn’t it.

Mid-season it tough. Mid-season is tricky. It plays with your mind and sanity. It is confusing and at this point, you don’t even know whether you’d rather keep winter or beg spring to come. Nothing in your wardrobe fits for the “in-between” weather and temperature.

Nothing until now. Because now, you know what to expect. You know to build a mid-season wardrobe, also known as transition wardrobe, with one essential fashion piece, a mid-season coat. A mid-season coat that will keep you warm when it is chilly out there but won’t suffocate you when mercury reaches two numbers.

I love trench coats and I think it is a wardrobe staple but the one I already have is the most basic and is super thin, it is like I am not wearing anything. Let’s be honest, it is more for show than anything else. I do love the shape of trench coats, so I picked a mid-season coat that would fit into the same style. Check being a massive trend these days, I thought it smart to combine both!

This coat gifted by Shein is double breasted with a Wales check print, quite neutral in the color, very elegant in the style and so easy to pair up with other pieces! If you look closely, some of the lines on the coat are red, so I thought it’d be a good idea to pair the coat with a red dress.

Just a subtle callback to the check print. The dress is made of red sparkly fabric. The skirt is sheer while the under skirt is solid black, meaning no one can see what’s going on underneath. I think my favorite thing in the dress is the open back, which is super pretty! I finished the look with a cross-body bag I have had for ages and black boots from Koi Footwear, which I wear all the time!

Both pieces were gifted by Shein and if you are interested in getting the same coat (or any other item from their website, they have such a massive choice), you can use my coat 9TEA which will give you 15% off (on top of existing sales) on any order above €49.

Thanks a lot for stopping by. I hope you liked this post.

    See you soon.

I’ve been looking for a coat like this for months. I love the imagination and as you say, I think it’s perfect for the mid season and then goes with every kind of look!

Super cute outfit! It’s so cold where I live in the winter I usually choose comfort over fashion, I wish I could play around with cute outfits more.

This is a fantastic coat! I like your dress too. It’s such a beautiful color. I normally wear my chewbacca coat and get compliments because who doesn’t love chewbacca?

It is such a strange time of year to know what to wear sometimes isn’t it. This sounds like a great coat to see you through that season change.

It’s still pretty cold in Texas, so I won’t be able to wear it with a dress :'( I loveee how it looks with that dress. I’ll have to wear with fleece leggings for sure haha Rocking that outfit girl!!

This coat looks so nice. I love the look of a midseason coat. We just tend to not actually have much of a midseason.

Definitely, an awesome coat to go with the in-between weather that is upon us of late. One week it is 19 degrees Celsius and the following week it is minus 8. That coat will save me having to walk around with everything and the kitchen sink.

Always looking so gorgeous girl! I would absolutely use such a coat. The plaid pattern makes it so cute and I just love how you pair it with the red dress.

This is a really nice coat! It looks like it would be perfect for this time of the year. Where it is almost spring, still a little cold some days.
