Who doesn’t love Autumn? Halloween, vibrant colors, beautiful trees, fallen leafs, pumpkin spice latte, cosy socks and blankets, warm nights in, the leading up to Chistmas, etc. Isn’t Autumn the best season?! It is probably British’s people favorite one, and for good reasons! Something I love about Autumn is all the gorgeous colors to play with in fashion, my new favorite color combination being yellow and green!
What is yours?!
There are some rather famous color combinations that are deemed impossible by the fashion rules. Red and pink was one of them. Although we now know that those two colors actually go pretty well together and can make up for great outfits! Like yellow and green!
I have to admit something though. Before this photoshoot, I had never worn both colors in an outfit together.
But I think it turned out quite well.
Green and yellow are both typical autumn colors. Along with orange, red, brown and purple. They are warm, vibrant, gorgeous on trees and even more amazing on outfits. Some of them can be styled together super well. So why not yellow and green together?
Because just like red gives pink, yellow gives green. While one is a primary color, the other is a variation of the same primary color. Thus, not deemed complimentary.
I disagree.
There isn’t always the need for a color contrast in fashion. Yes, red and cyan are great together. And so are black and white, yellow and blue or green and pink. Even though a green and yellow color combination does not give a big contrast, it still looks amazing.
I think so at least.
Once you’ve made peace with that, you can start to think of the accessories and how to create that contrast. Or just had some pop of color. A green midi skirt with a mustard chenille jumper can be teamed up with some more autumnal shades. A burgundy bag and tortoiseshell earrings that recall the statement chain of the bag. Its all in the details my friends!
Well, I don’t know about you, but now that I have tried this color combination, I am absolutely loving it! It is absolutely perfect for Autumn, classy and versatile. The outfit can be worn in the office, on a casual day or for drinks out. And that mustard chenille jumper is the comfiest thing ever!
Also, how amazing is that skirt? How gorgeous is the new flower display at Les Senteurs?!

Oh wow! I love the flower display backdrop so much! And of course your outfit! I completely agree with what you said about colours not having to contrast. I don’t think too much about colour when putting together an outfit. If the styles go well together, then that’s good enough for me.
I’ve noticed that yellow has been super trendy this season. I love how you paired the yellow top with the green skirt. At the end of the day, you can make different colors work. At the end of the day, we’re here to support others with their fashion choice :). Keep rocking your outfits!

Absolutely gorgeous photos, Corinne! That display is stunning, and your outfit really pops! I think green and yellow go perfectly – I mean, look at all the flowers we have that have gorgeous yellow petals and green leaves! π I think my favourite autumn colour for clothes at the moment is burnt yellow/mustard and dusky pinks π
Love these photos – these colours really suit you! I would never have thought to pair the two shades together but they really work well! I absolutely love wearing grey and burgundy during autumn and switching to darker lipsticks too. Thanks for sharing xx
Thatβs a really pretty outfit! I love all the colours that we start wearing during the autumn especially the oranges and yellows. I donβt think I would have though mustard and green would go togetherness but they actually look really lovely. Great post x
The purple shade of that bag is gorgeous!
These photos are absolutely stunning, and I LOVE your outfit!
I love Autumnal colours on other people, but I’m worried that I wouldn’t be able to pull them off x
I absolutely love this outfit! You always look amazing my darling!

Although this is not something I would think of putting together myself, you definitely rock it! I love mustard for this time of year, and I seem to be picking up a lot of cord items!
Wow, what a lovely place to take your photos! Your outfit is gorgeous too – they always are! You have such great style π Love that skirt, I usually just wear a jumper with leggings throughout this time of the year, otherwise I’m too cold haha. Wish I could wear a skirt like that! Thinking about it, I usually grab clothes that are darker in this time of the year, such as dark blues, dark purples.

Wow, the backdrop for these shots is beautiful! I’m with you, I totally love Autumn colours even though overall, Summer is my favourite season. I picked up almost an identical mustard chenille jumper in Primark today, funnily enough. I love how you’ve styled it, the skirt is gorgeous and the pop of extra colour from the bag rounds it all off. Great post!

Oh ! I loved it. Your outfit , styling & the flowers. They are stunning. Yellow & green goes well for me. For autumn, they are a very good choice. All goes with trend too but I think some combinations, colors & those flowers are evergreen. The beautiful colors complimented with each other can give a gorgeous look and if correctly styled, it is icing on the cake! Beautiful Yuh π
Oh I love the colours, so vibrant. I am yet to get into the whole Autumn vibe on my Blog and now I am excited for my next photoshoot! I also learnt something new about the common Autumn colours, thank you for sharing
This outfit looks amazing!
I tend to stick to berry tones in autumn, lots of reds and darks pinks and purples, sometimes a flash of yellow.

I loved the outfit that you are wearing but I’m just a goth girl at heart and I like my fabrics as black as my soul π Great post, it was nice to see some bright colours for this time of the year.
You really nailed this color combo. I love your blue skirt. Such a great shape and color.
I adore that outfit! Especially that skirt! So many ways to wear it dressed up or down
That flower display is amazing. I really love the colour combo ass well. I would have never thought to put those two colours together, but it works great!

If I’m being totally honest, I wear the same colors all year round. I very rarely switch it up.
I love your style! So cute! I’m not much of a fan of colors (I literally just refreshed my wardrobe in ALL black), but I do love my a good jewel tone like that yellow!
Oh I love this! At least it’s subdued against all the cobalt blues and the really fiery orange. love love love your look! π
