How To Nail The Floral Print In Winter

Floral? For spring? Groundbreaking. First of all, the floral print is perfect for spring. Not because it is the season where flowers are flowering. No. Just because it is super pretty and great to wear! And nothing better than wearing florals while being surrounded by flowers, am I right?!

Anyways…

Spring is not there yet. Far from it. It is so cold in London at the moment. Shooting outfits have been quite difficult just because of that. Back to the point.

The floral print.

I believe that the floral print is also perfect in winter. Because it is pretty, colorful and joyful. The best print to cheer you up, bring some joy, and add a pop of color when everything is so gloomy and monochrome out there. Nothing is more depressing than a grey January.

Also, as my friend Ana would say, it is a little bit extra, and who would not like that.

Your floral dress might be screaming of spring, but if you’re too afraid of looking out of place – or off season – you can always style it up with some more wintery pieces and accessories.

No faux fur coat in spring for sure. Except if you live in Scotland, because spring does not really exist there. And I know because I lived in Scotland for a year and a half; and was still wearing my faux fur in June. A pastel color faux fur coat will remind the world of spring, bring some lovely colors into your life while still keeping you warm for this awfully cold winter.

Don’t forget to wear tight though.

Style a midi dress up with black pumps and a tea dress down with black flats. Rock it up with a black biker jacket or make it work appropriate with a black blazer. A floral print dress is one of the most versatile pieces of a wardrobe. Exactly like a little black dress. It can be style in so many ways with so many pieces that you can wear it all year round and for so many different occasions.

Wedding, drinks, night out, work, florals will work for all of those!

So, are you convinced yet?

What do you think? Do you enjoy wearing florals? Do you have many pieces with that print? Where do you wear such pieces? At the office? And when? All year round or in spring only?

Thanks a lot for stopping by. I hope you liked this post.

See you soon,
Love,
Corinne

To be fair, I’m one of those people who wear the same thing in the winter, as I do in spring and let’s be honest summer – I’m not usually a strong print kind of gal but James sure is! Especially his florals!

I think half my wardrobe is floral printed. I absolutely love wearing florals! That dress is so pretty! And I love that pink furry jacket you’ve paired it with.

Great post! I always seem to wear black in the winter, I am terrible for it but this has definitely gave me a few ideas to style up a little more!

I do have a lot of floral prints but I haven’t wore them as I think they are quite summery! But this post has inspired me to get them back out and give them a go! I think wearing floral in the winter is a good idea because it will brighten up the gloomy days! I love the dress and shoes, you look amazing!! xx

I love florals, they’re so colourful! I definitely think that I go for a more darker floral in the winter though, rather than the more spring/summer colours. I love your jacket in these pictures!

Up until recently, my fashion consisted of what was comfortable over what looked fashionable, but I am trying to get more interested in style. I don’t know if I’d be able to pull of floral, though, but you’re absolutely killing it! I love that dress. I work from home and all my friends are away at university so I don’t think I’d get the opportunity to wear something like that enough to make the purchase worth while, but I’d definitely be up for buying it if I did. I don’t envy you going out in winter to capture those photos, either! Brrr….

I usually prefer plain clothes or block prints rather than florals – except for when I’m on holiday, then I’m all about floral prints and bright colours! However, seeing how you rock this dress in winter is definitely making me want to pull out some of my more summery pieces and see how I could fit it into my winter wardrobe. Great photos – you look gorgeous! Thanks for sharing xx

I tend to just go for darker colours in the winter without even really noticing but I love wearing florals during the summer and spring so why not wear it during the winter. I really love wearing floral dresses I’m going to need to try this out! X

Love these shots Corinne! I’ve never really been a floral girl, I love them on other people but I think they make me look a lot younger than I already look so I tend to steer clear but I do LOVE the contrast of the brighter florals on a dark material… May need to pick up a blouse like this!

Firstly, love the nod to The Devil Wears Prada there…
Secondly, that dress is beautiful and you look so lovely in it! I’ve worn much brighter colours this winter, but I can’t say I’ve ventured in to florals. May have to give it a go!

I love these shots! And the first line of the intro put the biggest smile on my face. I tend to shy away from bolder prints but this totally shows how you can adapt any trend to match the season x

I have actually just got a floral dress tailored made for me, in Vietnam. I do like wearing happy patterns and colors in winter, it’s like making the day brighter. However, I did run away this year from the English winter and I’m currently enjoying sunshine and temperatures of 24 degrees, in Spain. So no faux fur for me, just the dress 🙂

  21. February 11, 2019 / 5:14 pm

I do like florals but I’ve never thought about wearing them in Winter, too chilly! I take your point about them being a reminder of warmer, brighter weather though so I will have to dig out my skirts. I love all these photos so much – how on earth did you manage to get them taken at Piccadilly Circus with no-one else in shot though? What wizardry is this? 🙂

This is such a pretty dress, Corinne! I don’t really wear dresses much, but when I do it is usually a floral one. They are perfect for most occasions. This one suits you so much, the colours are gorgeous, lovely photos too! <3 xx

Oo I just love this dress! How pretty! I do have some floral print tops that I wear all year long.

  25. February 11, 2019 / 6:58 pm

I dont follow the silly fashion rules. I to wear flowers in the winter.

  26. February 11, 2019 / 7:07 pm

I love wearing floral in winter, I always pair floral prints with leather jackets or a black blazer. I hadn’t thought of wearing a faux fur coat with floral though! That’s a great tip. I also like wearing black lace up boots with floral dresses to give it an edgier look!

  27. February 11, 2019 / 8:14 pm

Ooh I’m definitely convinced! I bought some bright coloured jumpers the other day just to brighten up my wardrobe, fed up of the darker shades now. Great post.

Girl, you did a stellar job. Floral prints aren’t easy to handle in the first place, much less winter! Bravo!

  29. February 11, 2019 / 11:41 pm

I LOVE that you opened with a Devil Wears Prada quote! I’m a huge fan of florals and I really like the way you styled it for colder weather. It’s something I’ll definitely try!

This is such a beautiful outfit you have. Floral is really a great trend setter, it suits you very well. I’d love to try this look.

  32. February 12, 2019 / 8:44 am

Yes girl! You did nail floral this winter while everyone is used to plain outifts in winter! Your floral dress is just so beautiful and that coat gives such a fine, perfect finish!

  33. February 12, 2019 / 8:47 am

The pics are great!! You are pulling off the look perfectly

  34. February 12, 2019 / 10:10 am

Are you feeling cold? I would gladly wear floral print all year round if I can find a dress that I like. Good for you that you stand outside in those shoes and that dress in the cold. You did a great job.

I prefer wearing floral on spring and summer just because it matches my mood. A lot of times i hardly wear short dresses on winter because i get easily cold. You look great by the way on your floral dress.

  38. February 13, 2019 / 11:56 am

I’m one of those people who will wear the same thing all year round. But there is something special about florals in spring when the weather starts to turn.

  39. February 13, 2019 / 4:18 pm

I think it’s nice to wear a warm color during winter when everything is dark and gray. Even if it’s just a colorful scarf and floral skirt. It would really lift the spirit. You rock this dress. 😀

Floral print in winter? You actually nailed it! Love this idea girl! Thanks for sharing!

  41. February 15, 2019 / 10:12 am

Oh God, I love everything floral. I have a floral skirt, and I love that so much. For some reason, I do not have more than two floral dresses, if I remember correctly. That’s strange considering how much I love the floral style. Anyway, your dress is so beautiful, and I love your style.

  42. February 18, 2019 / 10:08 pm
