There is nothing I struggle with more than finding the perfect wedding guest dress. Not that I am being invited to weddings that often – something like once a year lately actually – but I always have such a hard time finding what to wear! Am I the only one? Probably not! I spend ages running from one shop to the other, finding so many dresses and not being happy with any of them. Quite often, I FaceTime my mum for final approval – or disapproval.
So can you imagine my excitement when I finally find the one?!
And my disappointment when I realize I will never ever wear it again?! Because that is often how it is, right? You find a super nice wedding guest dress, you look amazing on the day, you get compliments on your outfit and then it ends up in the back on your closet to never see the light of day again!
That’s the thing, right?! You go all out and get the complete outfit. So when my parents were paying, it was all good! But now that I am a grown up and pays my own bills, the wedding guest dress is on me, isn’t it?! Thus, I am a bit less inclined in spending a fortune for a dress I’ll never wear again!
So the solution would be to find a dress that is elegant enough for a wedding but wearable in a more casual setting. And I think I have found a winner! Sure when you look at it you might think the dress is still slightly over the top for the street. I am not sure I would wear that beautiful dress to go to work, but I can guarantee I’d wear it on a holiday! Especially a holiday by the beach, on the mediterranean coast, maybe Corsica or Italy. Or the south of France. Would not that oh-so 50s vibe and that floral print be perfect in that context?!
So yeah, I think I have found the perfect wedding guest dress that will also be perfect on holiday and won’t die of old age in the back of my closet. What do you think?! Alternatively, you can pick going out dresses that you will be wearing on many night outs and formal occasions! That works just as well!
