When I hear “autumn”, I immediately think pumpkin, cinnamon, apple and butterscotch. Harry Potter also comes to mind, although it is very often considered a Holiday movie. In any case, as the seasons change, so the drinks I consume and this is why I listed my favorite fall cocktails recipes below.

As we get into the fall, get ready for some autumn bakes and fall cocktails that will make the season even cozier. Pumpkin in madeleines or in espresso martinis will come later this year, but for now, let’s start with chai latte and apples in vodka cocktails!
All the cocktails listed below tend to use similar ingredients and are all vodka based, so that they are easier to make with just a few ingredients. Some require making simple syrup or infused vodka at home, but they are nonetheless super easy to execute! Who said fall cocktails had to be tricky to make? Not me!

Method
- Let’s start with making the Chain Simple Syrup. As it needs to completely cool before being used, better do it the night before.
- Bring 1/2 cup water to a boil in a saucepan.
- Remove from the heat and add the four chai tea bags. Cover and steep for ten minutes.
- Remove the bags and add 1/2 cup honey. Bring to a boil over high heat, and boil for 5 minutes before removing from the heat.
- Stir in the vanilla, transfer into a mason jar (or any other container) and let cool completely before using.
- Add Chai syrup, vodka, Kahlúa, espresso and coconut milk to a shaker over ice.
- Shake for about a minute.
- Strain into a glass. Garnish with some ground nutmeg if desired.
- Enjoy!
Note: If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can make espresso with a drip coffee machine. To make 1 oz of espresso, brew one tablespoon of ground coffee with 2 oz of water.
