Best Fall Cocktails Recipes: Easy Autumn Alcoholic Drinks

When I hear “autumn”, I immediately think pumpkin, cinnamon, apple and butterscotch. Harry Potter also comes to mind, although it is very often considered a Holiday movie. In any case, as the seasons change, so the drinks I consume and this is why I listed my favorite fall cocktails recipes below.

As we get into the fall, get ready for some autumn bakes and fall cocktails that will make the season even cozier. Pumpkin in madeleines or in espresso martinis will come later this year, but for now, let’s start with chai latte and apples in vodka cocktails!

All the cocktails listed below tend to use similar ingredients and are all vodka based, so that they are easier to make with just a few ingredients. Some require making simple syrup or infused vodka at home, but they are nonetheless super easy to execute! Who said fall cocktails had to be tricky to make? Not me!

1. Chai Espresso Martini

Ingredients

Chai Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 bags chai tea
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Martini

  • 1 oz Chain Simple Syrup
  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 1.5 oz Kalhúa
  • 1 oz espresso
  • 1 oz coconut milk
  • Ice
  • Nutmeg (optional – for garnish)
  • Saucepan
  • Mason jar
  • Double jigger
  • Shaker

Method

  1. Let’s start with making the Chain Simple Syrup. As it needs to completely cool before being used, better do it the night before.
  2. Bring 1/2 cup water to a boil in a saucepan.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the four chai tea bags. Cover and steep for ten minutes.
  4. Remove the bags and add 1/2 cup honey. Bring to a boil over high heat, and boil for 5 minutes before removing from the heat.
  5. Stir in the vanilla, transfer into a mason jar (or any other container) and let cool completely before using.
  6. Add Chai syrup, vodka, Kahlúa, espresso and coconut milk to a shaker over ice.
  7. Shake for about a minute.
  8. Strain into a glass. Garnish with some ground nutmeg if desired.
  9. Enjoy!

Note: If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can make espresso with a drip coffee machine. To make 1 oz of espresso, brew one tablespoon of ground coffee with 2 oz of water.

Chai Espresso Martini

2. Ginger Apple Moscow Mule

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1/3 cup apple cider
  • 1 tbsp apple butter or compote
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • Ice
  • Ginger beer
  • Pomegranate arils, apple slices, cinnamon sticks and ground for garnish
  • Shaker
  • Double jigger
  • Cocktail picks

Method

  1. Fill a whisky tumbler with ice.
  2. Add the vodka, lime juice, apple cider, apple butter and ginger in a shaker over ice.
  3. Shake until combined and strained into the glass.
  4. Top with ginger beer.
  5. Garnish with apple slices, pomegranate, ground cinnamon and cinnamon sticks.

3. Shimmering Apple Martini

Ingredients

  • 2 oz apple cider
  • 2 oz pomegranate juice
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 oz vodka
  • Ice
  • Edible gold glitter
  • Shaker
  • Double jigger

Method

  1. Shill a glass in the freezer.
  2. In a shaker, add the cider, pomegranate juice, vodka, maple syrup and edible glitter over ice.
  3. Shake to combine.
  4. Strain into the chilled glass.

Shimmering Apple Martini

4. Apple Cider Martini

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp caramel sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 3 oz vodka
  • 3 oz apple cider
  • Ice
  • Apple slides, lemon for garnish
  • Shaker
  • Double jigger
  • Cocktail picks
  • 2 small plates

Method

  1. Chill the martini glass in the freezer.
  2. Pour caramel sauce in a plate and brown sugar with cinnamon in another plate.
  3. Dip the glass in caramel sauce and then in the cinnamon brown sugar to cover the rim.
  4. Shake vodka and apple cider on ice.
  5. Strain into the martini glass.
  6. Cut apple slices and dip in lemon juice to avoid browning, and put on a cocktail pick.
  7. Add the apple to the glass for garnish and enjoy!

Apple Cider Martini

5. Apple Caramel Martini

Ingredients

Caramel vodka

  • 2 cup vodka
  • 16 caramels

Apple caramel martini

  • 2 oz caramel vodka
  • 1 oz butterscotch schnapps
  • 2 oz apple sider
  • Ice
  • Simple syrup colorful sugar for garnish
  • Mason jars
  • Strainer
  • Shaker
  • Double jigger
  • Small plates
  • Coupe glass

Method

  1. At least 48 hours before, place 16 caramels and 2 cups of vodka in a mason jar. Let sit at room temperature until fully dissolved.
  2. Strain into another mason jar to remove any piece that did not dissolve. Store at room temperature.
  3. Chill coupe glass in the freezer.
  4. Shake 2 oz caramel vodka, 1 oz butterscotch schnapps and 2 oz apple cider on ice.
  5. Put some simple syrup in a plate and dip the chilled glass.
  6. Cover the rim of the glass in sugar in a small plate.
  7. Strain the cocktail in the coupe glass and enjoy!

Apple Caramel Martini

6. Autumn Mudslide

Ingredients

Ingredients Equipment
  • 1 oz Bailey’s
  • 1 oz Kahlúa
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz heavy cream
  • Ice
  • Shaker
  • Tumbler glass
  • Double jigger

Method

  1. Shake all ingredients on ice.
  2. Strain into a whiskey glass over ice.

Autumn Mudslide

7. Cotton Candy Falltini

Ingredients

Ingredients Equipment
  • 1 oz butterscotch schnapps
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz apple cider
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Ice
  • Simple syrup and sugar for garnish
  • Shaker
  • Coupe glass
  • Double jigger
  • Small plates

Method

  1. Chill coup glass in the freezer.
  2. Shake butterscotch schnapps, vodka, apple cider, lemon juice on ice.
  3. Pour some simple syrup in a small plate and dip the coupe glass.
  4. In another small plate, pour sugar and dip the coupe glass to cover the rim.
  5. Strain the content of the strainer into the coupe glass.
