  • 4th Of July Road Trip Lookbook – 4 states, 4 outfits

    road trip lookbook

From the 4th to the 7th of July, I went on a very last minute road trip with Colette and we drove through four different states. You can find the itinerary on the blog as well! Of course, traveling in pretty cities is the perfect opportunity for beautiful photos so I shot one outfit per city. Thus, here is our 4th of July Road Trip Lookbook!

As you may also know, I have been working with Shein for almost a year and a half now, and they sent me a few pieces to shoot, that I took with me on this road trip!

    Day 1 – Newport, Rhode Island & Outfit 1

We must know my love for red dresses if you’ve read my latest fashion post! Little red dresses are just as a classic as LBDs or LWDs, am I right?! Anyway, the dress I talked about in this post came from Naf Naf, a French fashion store, and I got another red dress from the same store.

As we walked most of the day in Newport, I wore my usual Reebok silver trainers, that I have had for a very long time! I accessorized it with a straw bag with ball handle, from Shein, which turned out to be cross body as well!

    Day 2 – Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts & Outfit 2

Martha’s Vineyard is an island off the coast of Cape Cod, MA, and is quite known for hosting many ex-presidents holiday houses and for the gingerbread cottages!

There, I wore a dress I bought at H&M at the end of spring, just after getting to NYC. I really liked the pleated style as well as the paisley inspired baroque print at the bottom of the dress. And it has been one of my favorite dresses to wear till now!

I accessorized it with the same woven bag as outfit 1 and with wedges that I got from New Look last year. I usually don’t keep my glasses when I shoot outfits but this time, I decided to keep them on. Just like for all 4 outfits actually!

    Day 3 – Portland, Maine & Outfit 3

We divided our time in Portland in two, starting with the Lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth and then Old Port in Portland. However, all photos were made in Cape Elizabeth.

For this outfit, I wore the same dress I wear in the photos of my “10 reasons why I will miss the UK“, which as also gifted by Shein back in March. It is a dress I actually wear quite a lot! I styled it with a set of three pearl hair clips and a woven satchel bag, also from Shein. As always when I had to walk, I wore my trainers!

Because heels are sexy, that’s sure, but not the best to walk a long time in 32°C temperature and a very strong sun! And yes, I took one sunburn a day so kids, put on sunscreen!

Day 4 – Portsmouth, New Hampshire and outfit 4

Last but not least, outfit 4 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It was the last day of our road trip and we choose a blue house to take photos in front of. Houses in the US countryside tend to be quite colorful and thus make perfect backdrops for outfit!

I styled this floral & tropical print belted dress with my denim jacket, as it was quite windy on that day and a bit chilly. 22°C is not cold to UK standards, but after 3 days of 30°C to 32°C, it seemed like cold! Still wearing those silver trainers. I have had them since 2016! So old! And accessorized with the little woven satchel bag!

The dress looks tight and might make you think it is not so comfy to walk around for a day, but it actually is. The fabric is very stretchy and the dress very light! It is also perfect on holiday!

    Slip dress – Shein*
    Denim jacket – Primark
    Trainers – Reebok

That’s all for this road trip lookbook. 4 states, 4 outfits. Remember, you can get 15% off your Shein order (on top of  all on-going sales) with code 9TEA.

What do you think of this road trip lookbook? And of each outfit? Which one is your favorite? What is your favorite accessory?

Thanks a lot for stopping by. I hope you liked this post.

    See you soon,
    Love,
    Corinne.

Your red dress looks so perfect for summer. I love your patterned dress you wore in Portland, Maine – kind of reminded me of a candy cane a bit haha!
